  • What is Support Coordination in the NDIS?

Support Coordination is a service that helps you understand and use your NDIS plan in a way that works for your life.

A Support Coordinator works alongside you to connect with services, organise supports, and build your confidence to manage your plan over time.

  • What does a Support Coordinator do?

A Support Coordinator helps you turn your plan into real, practical support. This can include:

    • Explaining your NDIS plan in simple terms
    • Connecting you with the right services
    • Coordinating different providers
    • Helping solve issues when things aren’t working
    • Supporting you to build independence over time
  • What are the different levels of Support Coordination?

There are three levels of Support Coordination in the NDIS:

    • Support Connection (Level 1): Helps you get started and connect with supports
    • Support Coordination (Level 2): Ongoing support to manage and use your plan
    • Specialist Support Coordination (Level 3): For more complex situations requiring higher-level support

Looking for Specialist Support Coordination (Level 3)?

For more complex needs, Level 3 Support Coordination provides deeper support to manage risks, challenges, and multiple services.

  • How do I know if I have Support Coordination in my NDIS plan?

Support Coordination is usually funded under your Capacity Building budget.

    It may be listed as:

    • Support Coordination
    • Coordination of Supports
    • Specialist Support Coordination

If you’re unsure, we can help you understand what’s included in your plan.

  • Do I have to use a Support Coordinator?

    No. Support Coordination is optional.

If it’s included in your plan, you can choose whether to use it and who you want to work with.

  • Can I choose my own Support Coordinator?

Yes. You have full choice and control.

You can choose a provider that feels right for you and aligns with your needs, values, and goals.

  • Can I change my Support Coordinator?

Yes, you can change at any time.

If something isn’t working or you feel like you need a different approach, you’re able to move to a provider that better supports you.

  • What’s the difference between Support Coordination and Plan Management?

    They are different supports:

    • Support Coordination: Helps you organise and use your supports
    • Plan Management: Helps manage your budget and pay invoices

Many people have both in their NDIS plan.
